An exciting opportunity has arisen within the City of Lincoln Council’s Housing & Investment directorate for a part-time member of staff working within our Independent Living team, working city-wide from various locations in our independent living schemes.
Key responsibilities:
- To contribute to the achievements of the Independent Living Service by providing support and assistance to tenants of the council’s independent living schemes.
- To assist tenants living in non-supported housing to maintain their independence through the promotion of dispersed alarm equipment and technologies.
- To refer individuals to other statutory and non-statutory services as appropriate e.g. Adult Social Care, Wellbeing Services, Age UK.
- To ensure that the communal areas of the councils supported housing schemes are kept in a safe and comfortable environment for residents and their visitors.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, provide excellent customer service and be able to work successfully in a team environment as well as alone.
- A current first aid certificate or willingness to undertake this within the first 3 months of employment.
- 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English.
- Ability to use Microsoft office to ECDL standard or equivalent.
- Experience of working with older people or elderly services.
